Yospace eyes 2011 as the year that mobile video makes a real impact. Video to mobile specialist Yospace today announced that it has appointed digital visionary Peter Cowley to its board as a non-executive director. The appointment follows a year of unprecedented growth in customer adoption of yospaceCDS – the company’s unique video delivery platform, further underpinning Yospace’s domain expertise in the fast moving video to mobile space.“Peter’s understanding of the digital market place and enthusiasm for Yospace’s offering makes this appointment a real driver for us all. Online video is an open door for many content owners, but the complexities of managing its delivery to mobile, particularly when coupled with the complexities of ad insertion on mobile, can be a barrier to creativity and revenue. Yospace eliminates the video to mobile barrier.” commented Tim Sewell, CEO, Yospace.Peter Cowley added, “Yospace is uniquely positioned to solve a fundamental problem which is at the intersection where video meets mobile. As powerful mobile connected devices proliferate and consumer demand for video content accelerates, managing the delivery of this content will become a key success factor in who are the winners and losers in the space.”Peter Cowley is Founder & CEO of Spirit Digital Media. Spirit is a commercially driven, dynamic multi-platform content producer that operates in the UK & USA and is backed by ContentFilm. Prior to Spirit, Peter was MD of Digital Media for Endemol UK and global head of original digital programming at Endemol International.
