Leading Japanese OTT streaming system provider ITOCHU Cable Systems Corporation (ICS) has announced a partnership with dynamic advertisement replacement specialist Yospace.

ICS work with live OTT encoders/transcoders that output over 200 channels for major Japanese MVPDs, broadcasters and OTT service providers across platforms/devices such as web, tablets and mobile phones. The partnership allows advertisements in live channels integrated by ICS to be replaced when viewed on an OTT device.  Replacement ads benefit from an ability to tailor content to the individual, creating an experience that is relevant and compelling to each viewer.Ad stitching is performed on the server-side with a degree of accuracy that means users are oblivious to transitions between replacement ads and underlying content.  When combined with reliability at scale, an experience is created that meets the demands of the viewer, broadcaster and advertiser. As a result, in major sporting events, the most demanding arena for live streaming, Yospace customers have reported view-through rates over 98%.  Such a high level of engagement with the viewer has driven a four-fold increase in digital ad revenues.“Yospace lead the way in frame-accurate DAI for live and VOD streaming and this partnership is great news for our customers,” said Kenji Tsuchiya, President and CEO, at ITOCHU Cable Systems Corporation.  “As the leading provider of OTT streaming services in Japan, it is critical that ICS enable broadcasters to maximise digital revenues.  With Yospace as a partner we are able to do just that.”Tim Sewell, CEO of Yospace, said “ICS’ position as a market leader in online broadcast services makes it an excellent fit for Yospace and we are delighted to be extending our pioneering service into Japan and the APAC region.  With large-scale deployments in the US, LatAm, Europe and Australia, Yospace has emerged as the leading provider of DAI technology.  Our partnership with ICS further strengthens this position.”
