Content Groups
Content and Source Groups provide a logical means by which you can manage your Media Items. The Manage Content Groups listed under Content Management provides a summary of your Content and Source Groups.
Source Groups are displayed separately from Content Groups. To understand the difference between Source and Content Groups read the Core Concepts document. The Manage Content Groups screen presents the following information for each Content Group listed (depending on your user access privilege):
- Name
- The descriptive name you provided when you set-up the Content Group
- Number of Member Media Items
- The column marked with the icon
indicates the number of Media Items contained within this group. This is not necessarily the number of Media Items that will be published by an Output Feed, however, as Output Feeds can be limited, and Media Items can exist that do not have RSS Details associated with them. - Number of Dependent Advert Promotions
- The column marked with the icon
indicates the number of Promotions that rely on the Content Group for advertisements. Shown to Administrator users only. - Number of Dependent Content Promotions
- The column marked with the icon
indicates the number of Promotions that rely on the Content Group for content. Shown to Administrator users only. - Number of Input Feeds.
- The column marked with the icon
indicates the number of Input Feeds feeding Media Items into the Content Group. - Number of Output Feeds. Shown to Administrator users only.
- The column marked with the icon
indicates the number of Output Feeds that are publishing the contents of the Content Group. Shown to Administrator users only.
Create Content Group
To create a Content Group, click the "Create Content Group" option and fill out the following details:
- Name
- This the name you will use to identify the Content Group you have created in the Content Management Console. It has no other significance.
- Description
- Optional additional text describing your Content Group. This is particularly useful if you want to leave notes about the intended use of the Content Group to other users sharing the account. It has no other significance.
- Make Source Group
- Click this option if you want to prevent users of Content Contributor or Editor privileges from removing content from this Content Group. This option is available only to Administrator users.
