 Blogging with the MCP

Personal & Group Blogging Module
Mobile Blogging, as an extension of a network-based media hub strategy, represents a huge revenue opportunity for mobile operators. The Yospace MCP Blogging module delivers a feature-rich and robust blogging solution that empowers subscribers to instantly and effortlessly share their thoughts and experiences on the web, whenever and wherever they are.

Be First To Offer Mainstream Consumer Blogging
The most exciting aspect of mobile blogging is the immediacy that it provides. Anyone can capture an event or thought at any time, in any place; this dramatically widens the applications and appeal of blogs, not only to those that make them, but also to those that read them. With MMS-enabled camera handsets being the baseline capability in the pockets of most consumers within the next few years, the audience of potential bloggers is enormous. When the barriers to creating and managing blog using a mobile phone are removed, mobile blogging is set to be behind a mainstream explosion of the next generation of blog sites.
5 Great Blogging Ideas
Personal Journey: Individual goes travelling wishes to share experiences and keep family & friends updated.
Personal Journalism: an enthusiast wishes to create an online journal of thoughts. Personal Diary: an individual wishes to keep an on-line diary of events in their life.
Group Events: a corporate teambuilding event, party, road trips, sports events, etc.
Group Journalism: a club or society may keep its members up-to-date through subject-orientated 'blog' journalism, etc.
The Yospace Media Community Platform provides a fully-featured blogging extension, supporting a wide range of use cases and scenarios that will drive MMS usage. Customers can set-up private blogs to share with a closed group of their friends or family, or if their blog as wider appeal, to share it with the world. Blogs needn't be simply an individual sharing experiences; group blogging means that, for example, a sports team can contribute to the same blog thus enriching its content and widening the appeal to its readership.

How it works
Setting Up The Blog Site
It's really easy, you just create an album in the usual way. In fact it can be album you've already got. To make a blog, users simply 'blog-enable' an album choose the URL and the style of their blog site.

Once an album is blog-enabled, the MCP automatically "publishes" a web site based on the contents of the album. The user can choose to automatically route incoming messages to their Inbox directly into the blog-enabled album. The MCP supports the ability to assign blog-enabled album to any number of operator-defined shortcodes.

Updating the Blog Site
That's really easy too. You just send your picture, audio or video clip with your descriptive text to the MCP in the usual way - typically this will be via a shortcode. The MCP automatically routes messages into the blog-enabled album and updates the blog site accordingly.

Viewing the Blog Site
That's really, really easy. Just visit the URL of your blog site. There's no requirement to log in, give out a username or password. The blog is available on the internet for all to see. Mobile video clips in their 3GPP format play in a Java applet, so visitors to the blog do not need to download media playing software to view the clips.
