| A Powerful Online MMS Media Store |
Mobile multimedia has arrived. Picture messaging and polyphonic ring tones and audio clips are already becoming 'standard' functionality on many new handsets. With MP4 video clips, the need to provide a scalable media store service to subscribers is now greater than ever.
The Media Community Platform not only provides 'MMS content vending machine' solution for premium content sources, it also allows subscribers to store and manage their own library of media acquired from their handset or home PC. The design of the Media Community Platform enables the store owner to import content from a wide variety of content partners and to have greater ownership of what is valuable to their customers enhancing their ability to deliver a compelling service.
The basis for the Media Community Platform is an industrial strength object-orientated media store optimised for MMS and mobile media objects. |

Image Search Users can search for images that are authorised to view (i.e. public galleries, their private albums, albums that have been shared to them) by providing search keywords. Results are presented in thumbnail format alongside descriptions. |
 |
Public / Premium Galleries with Powerful Content Moderation Users can access content from public and premium galleries. The public gallery is arranged into a taxonomy defined by the store owner into which community members can contribute their own albums. Content moderators of the MCP are able to remove albums added to the public gallery. The premium gallery is similar but is contributed to by feeds from third-party premium content providers. Premium content can be assigned with pricing codes so appropriate charges can be applied when a user sends it to their MMS handset. |
 |
Desktop / MMS Upload In addition to using the public and premium galleries, users can add media into their private albums from a desktop upload facility and directly from their MMS handset. Items can be uploaded directly into a specified album from the user's desktop. Supported image formats include GIF (including animated GIFs), JPEG and PNG. Users can forward MMS message from their handset to a MMS shortcode or to their own MSISDN (deployment-specific), these pictures/messages appear in a special "Inbox" album in the MCP and can be moved into the appropriate album from there.
Messages with multiple slides and text, etc. are displayed in full when selected and can be forwarded as complete MMS messages, however the thumbnail given to the album item is that of the first frame.
