| The Media Community Platform features an incredibly powerful and versatile image editing system providing visitors with an unparalleled suite of editing features. The applet is designed to be fun to use, but provides a number of sophisticated image manipulation features, usually only seen in expensive desktop products, such as Adobe Photoshop. |

(1) Effects & Filters Palette
A scrolling palette containing numerous icons provides a series of transformation effects (such as Warp, Twist, Pinch & Punch) and image filters (such as Sepia, Blur, Scatter, etc.) |

(2) Tools
The PhotoTool supports multi-stage undo and redo capability, with a Restart feature to revert all changes. Regular and irregular shaped selections can be automatically copied to the clipboard using the Marquee and Lasso tools. |

(3) Zoom
Multiple zoom levels are supported. |
|
(4) Image Panning
Allows the user to pan around the current image. |
|
(5) Coordinates
Current cursor location and selection size is displayed for precise positioning. |

(6) Clipboard Contents
A preview of the current clipboard contents is shown here. |

(7) "Tool Tip" Help
Moving the mouse pointer over any element of the screen displays help text for that element. Like all text within the PhotoTool and the MCP in general, the help system supports full internationalisation. |

(8) Clipart Library
A scrolling palette containing clipart that can be placed onto the image. Clipart, once placed, can be resized and have its opacity level adjusted. The clipart library is definable and can be used to include speech bubbles, hats, spectacles, lips, wigs, etc. |

(9) Tool Options
Every filter, effect or mode of the PhotoTool is associated with comprehensive set of options. The PhotoTool can be customised easily to reduce the number of options for ease of use. Most tools support an Alpha setting which allows their effect on the image to be semi-transparent. |

(10) Effect Preview
Represents the image with the effect applied with the current tool / effects settings. Double-clicking Preview applies the current effect to the whole image. |

Consistent with all other aspects of the Media Community Platform has a completely customisable interface system. Not only are you able to rebrand the tool with your own colours and logo, etc., it is possible to modify the user interface to only offer the functions you wish to provide.
It is possible to provide several "cut down" tools to serve specific functions, such as "an image cropper", "add clip art", "make sepia", etc., to make common operations accessible to the most novice of users.

| Server-Side Operation Available |
| The modular nature of the Photo Editor's software construction means that all of its powerful image processing function are also available as server-side functions, thus making it possible to process images on the fly -- to, for example, automatically watermark premium content with your logo. |
