| Technical Information |
| The architecture of the Media Community Provides provides the following features & benefits: |
| Brandable and Customisable Web & WAP Interfaces |
Redesigning the user interface and branding of the Media Community Platform is simply a matter of changing the XSLT stylesheets which are used to transform the raw output XML from the core application. |
| MCP has a pluggable interface architecture for easy integration with external systems |
| Flexible Systems Integration |
Interfaces to the operator's service platform systems, such as single sign-on, billing and messaging are handled through pluggable interfaces. Standard protocols are already implemented for interfaces to SMS-Cs and MMS-Cs, while other interfaces can be built to order. The MCP's unique design for hierarchical storage abstraction, through the Yospace Repository layer, means that the media store can be seamlessly integrated with other data store or RDBMS's. |
| Straightforward XML-based 3rd Party Content Feeds |
A configurable HTTP/XML interface is provided for bulk import of data from third-party providers. The bulk import system obeys the MCP-supported moderation policy (active or policy) as defined by the operator. More information on content moderation features can be found in our section on Administration Tools. |
| Four Tier Architecture Affords Flexible Scalability |
The Media Community Platform's 4 tier architecture has been designed with carrier-grade scalability in mind. Containing a database layer, data model abstraction layer, application logic and presentation layer, the MCP can be hosted as simple single/dual box solution or a multi-box solution using clustering on every tier. |
| 3rd Party APIs Affords Maximum Extensibility |
Fundamental to the design of the MCP is the ability to provide a platform for any new applications requiring community or media store functionality, and for its customers or 3rd parties to extend its functionality independently. High level HTTP XML APIs are provided, allowing new functions to be added easily. |
