Yospace adds latest handset models to SmartPhone Emulator Developer Edition.
Premier tool for WAP site development now contains over 30 pixel-perfect emulators.
London - 26th May 2005
Yospace, the mobile applications innovator, has launched SmartPhone Emulator Developer Edition 5.0. Developers can now preview and test WAP sites for the very latest 3G handsets in multiple handset emulators simultaneously.
SmartPhone Emulator Developer Edition 5.0 supports XHTML-MP and CSS to allow developers to test the most sophisticated WAP interfaces quickly and conveniently. Handsets added include Motorola V500, Motorola V980, Sharp GX30, Siemens SX1, Nokia 6600, and Samsung Z105. In addition, the product also supports a wide range of legacy handsets supporting WML/WMLScript.
"Testing and validating WAP services is extremely time consuming due to the heterogeneous environment of handset browsers. Often, the time or resources to test WAP applications on many handsets simply doesn't exist and compromises have to be made," said David Springall, CTO, Yospace.
"We believe that SmartPhone Emulator Developer Edition 5.0 empowers developers to carry out this task in a fraction of the time whilst maintaining quality."
"Our XHTML/CSS rendering engine at the heart of version 5.0 not only delivers pixel-perfect emulations, but also enables us to build and distribute new ones much more quickly," Springall continued. "Now developers will be able to test their WAP sites on the very latest models."
SmartPhone Emulator Developer Edition 5.0 costs £299 for a single developer seat for Windows, UNIX, and Mac OS X platforms. License holders of previous versions of SmartPhone Emulator can upgrade with a 50% discount. Workgroup and Enterprise licences are also available upon request.
