Overview
It is estimated that 120 million mobile phone users in Europe have replaced their original ring tone with a more "harmonious" option within the last twelve months.
In Norway alone, approximately US $1.1 million is spent per month by customers changing logos and ring tones on their Nokia phones.
The provision of these ring tones and logos has emerged as a great way of adding value and revenue to your mobile internet portal.
Technical Overview
The integration of RingThing has been specifically designed to be simple. The applet can be easily placed into a web page with some simple HTML which Yospace can provide. The applet manages the communication with the back-end user library and sending system, providing a "file chooser" interface and a sending interface.
The only further integration work that must be carried out is the synchronisation of your user database with the back-end user library using a simple set of HTTP-based APIs. By default, Yospace will provide an SMS service which covers almost every GSM network in the world. However, you may elect to bear the SMS traffic with your own infrastructure. There are several simple ways in which this integration may be achieved. The applet is supported with an Oracle-based back-end, which creates a highly scalable and robust environment in which users can store, manage and share their ring tones and Mimages in their own personal areas.
